A Bit About Me

I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and an Holistic Therapist living and working in Wilmslow, Cheshire, U.K. I originally trained as a Reiki therapist when I began working with children and young adults with additional needs in mainstream primary school and other learning establishments. Initially it was to help to promote peace and relaxation in the children to allow them to engage more easily with the curriculum or simply to calm them down. What I noticed however, was that it created in them a bond of trust with me, and this healthy connection then encouraged them to listen and to become more inspired, creative and confident as well as more capable of finding peace.

Of all the therapies and treatments that I offer I would rank Reiki as one of the most beneficial because it is simple and effective. Sometimes we don't need to talk our problems out, sometimes we just need space and time to relax in order to re-ground ourselves and to find solutions within ourselves in the peace and silence of a calm and relaxing healing session.

What will I learn on my Reiki Shoden Course?

Reiki Level One, or Reiki Shoden Course, is the first course that you take when you are learning how to channel and use Reiki energy. In this particular course, you are learning how to use Reiki for your own benefit and once you have received your certificate from me you will also be able to use Reiki on family and friends as long as you do not charge a fee. You will not be able to obtain practitioner insurance so you cannot use Reiki on fee-paying members of the public. If you wish to become a practitioner and charge a fee, you will need to take your Reiki Level Two (Okuden) Course and you can only take this course after you have passed the Shoden Course. The courses scaffold each other so you always begin with the Shoden course.

I teach the Western version of traditional Usui Reiki but also teach my students some of the Japanese methods such as how to use the sensitivity in the hands to scan the body to discover where to 'target' the Reiki energy.

Rather than being a lower level course, the Shoden course is the most essential and the one which will teach you the most about how to channel and work with this beautiful energy. If you practise and allow your ability to develop naturally you will obtain a great deal of benefit from taking this course.
